Download and read the November 2009 Social Concerns Newletter The Community Service Council are club members who are interested in developing and participating in social concerns programs and community service and spiritual growth opportunities. Maybe you might be interested in meeting with some of the Notre Dame students who participate in service projects in our area or helping to plan student events. And in addition to the direct/hands-on service route, we would also like to continue to develop opportunities for spiritual and interpersonal growth (e.g. perhaps organizing a retreat for club members, etc.) If you have other ideas or thoughts about this or types of spiritual growth or social concerns opportunities or if you're interested in getting involved in community service, please contact us. If a Notre Dame student is interested in doing the Urban Plunge or Summer Service Internship in Pittsburgh, he/she should first contact the Center for Social Concerns at Notre Dame. Aside from those two projects, the Notre Dame Alumni Club in Pittsburgh also helps Notre Dame and St. Mary's students, who are home for breaks, locate opportunities to volunteer and do service work in the Pittsburgh area. Please contact us if you are a student interested in this type of service/volunteer opportunity.
