PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Scholarship Fund is to provide financial aid to qualified students from the "Pittsburgh Area" to assist them in attending the University of Notre Dame. The "Pittsburgh Area" is hereby defined as including the city of Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas as determined by the Scholarship Committee.
DONATING:
Earmarking your annual contributions to the University of Notre Dame for the Pittsburgh Scholarship Fund will greatly help the Club's efforts in making the 'Notre Dame Experience' more affordable for local students.
Such contributions directed to the Pittsburgh Scholarship Fund will continue to qualify to receive an application for the University's football ticket lottery.
Simply make you check payable to the "University of Notre Dame" and write "apply to the Pittsburgh Scholarship Fund" both in the memo field of your check and on the return gift card.
Thank you.

AWARD POLICY:
The Scholarship Fund will provide as many scholarships to qualified "Pittsburgh Area" students as the available accumulated annual earnings of the Fund(s) may permit at the time. All qualified "Pittsburgh Area" students are eligible to receive scholarship aid. Once awarded, the aid will continue even if the recipient or his or her family relocates outside the "Pittsburgh Area". A recipient will receive aid based on financial need on a year to year basis only. A recipient will continue to receive aid for the full regular undergraduate term required to complete his or her major course of study. The continuation of aid is contingent upon the performance of acceptable academic work and the continuation of financial need. The Scholarship Committee will review each recipient's case annually based upon records furnished by the University.
Qualified applicants are to be selected by the Scholarship Committee in accordance with the "Procedures" outlined herein. Recipients of scholarship awards are selected on the basis of financial need, scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities, and a desire to attend Notre Dame. It is declared policy that the primary consideration will be that of financial need. Whether a student is designated as a "Notre Dame Scholar", although important, is a secondary consideration.
The scholarship awards will be in the nature of gifts to the designated recipients, which do not require repayment. It is declared policy that these scholarship awards are intended to provide partial assistance only. The amounts awarded may vary, depending upon the financial need of the student or the designation of the scholarship, at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee. However, no award is intended to fully pay for all expenses (room, board, tuition) of the recipient.
The only limitation on these scholarship awards is that the recipients must confirm their attendance at the University of Notre Dame in order to receive the awards. There are no restrictions or limitations based on race, creed, color, sex, or national or ethnic origin. There are no restrictions or limitations based upon the employment status of the recipients or any relative thereof. There is no direct or indirect relationship between members of the Scholarship Committee and the qualified applicants or their employers.
